There is a chance that it could be down to King Kelly and Travis Perry by the time that 2023 arrives. With his 26 point effort Thursday night against Hopkins Central, Perry now stands at 3,433 points for his high school career.
That total places Perry at 6th on the all-time scoring list in Kentucky.
Those in front of him at this point are:
Kelly Coleman (Wayland) – 4,337
Charlie Osborne (Flat Gap) – 3,647
Cameron Justice (Knott County Central) – 3,587
Harry Todd (Earlington) – 3,567
Chris Harrison (Tollesboro) – 3,542
Perry is currently averaging 30.5 points a game through Thursday night’s win over Hopkins Central. The Lyons could play as many as four games at the King of the Bluegrass. They will play Caldwell County in the West Kentucky Hoops Classic and then they will head off to the White, Greer & Maggard Holiday Classic.
If the Lyons could get in seven games during the holiday period, with Perry averaging 31 points per game for 217 total, that would get him to 3,650 and thereby to 2nd on the all-time scoring list.
The next game for the Lyons is Saturday at the Chad Gardner Law King of the Bluegrass, where the Lyons will take on Harlan County in an opening-round game.
