A 33-point night from Prince Kahnplaye was enough for Community Christian to end its three-game losing streak Thursday night. Kahnplaye was one of three Warriors to reach double-figures as Community Christian rolled past Fort Campbell 74-50 in Paducah.
Kahnplaye reached 33 points despite not having scored in the opening quarter.
Outside shooting struggles hurt the Fort Campbell cause Thursday night as the Falcons were just 21 of 75 from the field, including 2 of 27 from behind the 3-point line. Community Christian took 12 fewer shots but hit eight more than did the Falcons.
The two middle quarters of the game decided the outcome. The Falcons trailed only 14-10 after one. However, the Warriors pushed the lead out to 37-21 at the half.
Community Christian continued the run in the third quarter, outscoring the Falcons 22-13 to move the lead out to 59-34. From there, the Warriors idled on out to the 24 point win.
Maurice Moore led Fort Campbell with 12 points. Dakevious Lewis also reached double-figures with 11. Aidan Blaszkowski was right behind with nine points.
In addition to Kahnplaye’s 33 points, Jamison Smith scored 24 for Community Christian and Tyson Winsett added 15.
The Falcons now stand at 2-5. They begin play Saturday in the St. Mary Christmas Classic.
