
St. Mary opened play in its Christmas Holiday Classic by doubling up Fort Campbell 82-41 Saturday in Paducah.
The Vikings broke open a close game with a 25-6 second quarter run to take a 42-20 lead into intermission.
St. Mary’s balance was on display in the second frame as nine Vikings found the scorebook.
For the game, ten Vikings scored led by Luke Sims, Brett Haas, and Aidan Hahn with 13 points each. Sims added six assists and six steals to his stat line.
Aidan Blaszkowski led Fort Campbell with 13 points, and Dason Tate added nine points.
St. Mary will play Carlisle County in the semifinals Monday. The Comets throttled Dawson Springs 90-56. Fort Campbell will play the Panthers Monday afternoon at 2pm.
