A Caldwell County High School wrestler is reported to be doing well after a scary incident Saturday morning.

Preston Rogers

While competing in the Armstrong Tiger Classic in Princeton, junior Preston Rogers reportedly blacked out during a match. He then had a seizure on the mat.

Rogers was removed from the Community Activities Building on a stretcher and transported from the gym by ambulance to the track at the football stadium. An Air Evac helicopter landed inside Tiger Stadium near the fieldhouse and flew Rogers to Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville for tests and evaluations.

Meanwhile, the Tiger wrestling team was joined by wrestlers from other schools for a prayer circle on the mat.

Rogers suffered pulled muscles in his neck and upper shoulder area, but the family reports no brain damage or other serious injuries.

One of the first questions Preston asked in Evansville was how his team was doing.

Younger brother Donovan, an eighth grader, stayed behind when the family left and went 4-0 in his matches.

Caldwell County went on to claim the championship of its own tournament.
