
The Christian County wrestling team finished in fourth place Saturday at the loaded Cape Central Tiger Classic in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Christian County got six podium finishes on the day, including a pair of first place wins.
JaRi Campbell remained unbeaten this season by winning the 120-pound class. After winning his opener by a major decision, he took his final two matches by pin.
Omarion Wimberly took first place in the 215-pound class. He won three of his four matches by pin and improved his record to 11-1.
Ashton Smith finished second in the 106-pound class, falling in the title match to Eli Porter of Cedar Hill, Mo.
Deameion Leavell finished in third place in the 150-pound division. He fell in the semifinals by a 3-1 score but battled back to easily win his final two matches.
Holden Schneider finished in fourth place in the 126-pound division. He went 3-2 on the day but fell by pin in the third place match.
Kevondre Young took fifth place in the 113-pound class, putting up a 3-2 record on the mat. He won the 5th place match by a fall at the end of the first round.
As a team, Christian County finished in fourth place with 181 points. Cedar Hill Northwest won the event with 304 points.
