
Logan County’s Gracie Borders scored 20 first-half points on the way to a game-high 30 to send the visiting UHA Lady Blazers into the holiday break with a 71-41 defeat on Monday.
UHA won’t take the court again until after the New Year when they open 8th-District play at Christian County on January 6.
Nora Epley drilled a pair of first-quarter three-pointers, and the Lady Cougars were in front 15-4 early.
Borders erupted for 15 points in the second, including 8/8 at the free-throw line, to help Logan blow the game open. The Lady Cougars outscored UHA 23-7 to take a 38-11 lead at the half.
The Lady Blazers got two three-pointers from Kennedy Quarles and seven points from Amaryia Bass to shave three points off the margin in the third.
Logan’s Brenley Adler scored six of her 12 points in the fourth, and Borders capped a 30-point night with five more. Emerson McKinnis also reached double figures for the Lady Cougars with ten.
