Once again Vince Marrow never closing a recruiting door has brought a player to Kentucky.

Ohio State safety Jentzen Dunn committed to the Wildcats Sunday. He entered the transfer portal Dec. 13.

The former South Warren star was a four-star recruit and the second highest rated player in Kentucky in his recruiting class when he chose Ohio State over UK and others after de-committing from Oklahoma. He was ranked as the No. 10 overall safety in his recruiting class and a top 200 prospect.

However, Dunn has played only sparingly for Ohio State in two years. He got in just two games in 2021 before an injury ended his season and then played in only four games on special teams this season.

He visited UK recently before committing and may be able to help fill a void for the Cats that was created when Carrington Valentine announced he was bypassing his senior season to enter the NFL draft.

247Sports has Dunn ranked as a top-10 safety in the transfer portal and Florida State, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Purdue, Louisville, Western Kentucky, Indiana, Memphis, Mississippi State and others had also reached out to Dunn.

Dunn has three years of eligibility remaining and joins Alabama lineman Tanner Bowles, Northern Illinois offensive tackle Marques Cox and Cincinnati defensive back JQ Hardaway as transfers coming to Kentucky.
