Derrin Boyd scored 1,911 points at Caldwell County High School and another 945 points in two seasons at Georgetown College.
So it was no surprise that the former Tiger standout put up some big numbers when his Lipscomb Bisons team returned to the Bluegrass State Tuesday to take on the Louisville Cardinals.
Boyd, a sophomore for the Bisons, put up a team-high 23 points while grabbing nine rebounds, dishing out two assists and getting one steal as Lipscomb upended UofL 75-67 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville.

The Bisons took a 33-32 advantage to halftime and led for much of the contest.
Boyd was 8 of 11 from the floor in the contest, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range. He made all three of his free throw attempts.
Boyd is a 2019 Caldwell County grad.
