Colonels Drop Second Game at Adidas Shootout

The Christian County boys’ basketball team lost for the second time in as many days on Tuesday at the Adidas Shootout in Murfreesboro, falling 54-46 to Montgomery Bell Academy.

The Colonels raced out to a 14-4 advantage after the first quarter, but things went downhill from there.  Marcel Reed knocked down a pair of three-pointers on the way to eight points in the second to help Montgomery Bell outscore Christian County 17-15.

Jordan Miles scored eight in the second for the Colonels to finish with 12 first-half points, and they led 29-21 at the break.

The Colonels went cold in the third, with Derrell Bateman scoring four of their six points in the frame.  Josh Roberts hit for eight, and Montgomery Bell surged in front 38-35 with a quarter to play.

Connor O’Neal scored 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter, including three three-pointers, to send Montgomery Bell to the win.  Reed also finished with 16, and Roberts had 11.

Miles’12 led the Colonels, although he was scoreless in the second half.  George Sanders also reached double figures with ten.

Christian County slipped to 3-6 and will wrap up play in Tennessee on Wednesday with a matchup with Franklin, TN.
