The University Heights Academy Blazers will head into the New Year on an unbeat note. The Blazers finished their appearance in the Henderson Chevrolet, Buick, GMC Classic with their second straight win.
The Blazers held the Muhlenberg County Mustangs to under 43 percent shooting Friday as they picked up a 64-50 win.
After dropping their first game in the holiday event on Wednesday, the Blazers rebounded with wins over Evansville Bosse and Muhlenberg County.
Defense continues to be a story for the Blazers so far in the 2022-2023 season. In each of their five wins, UHA has held their opponent to less than 55 points.
UHA will get a few days off to ring in the New Year before returning to the court next Friday night for a huge 8th District battle when they travel across North Drive to take on the Christian County Colonels.
Also looming on the horizon is the 2nd Region All A Classic, which will find UHA taking on the defending champion Lyon County in an opening-round game on January 10 in Blazer Gym.
