
Franklin-Simpson used a big fourth quarter to rally past Todd County Central Friday night in 13th District basketball action.
Jalen Briscoe hit one of two free throws with 1.1 seconds left in the game to lift the host Wildcats to a 46-45 victory over the Rebels.
The game was tied 45-45 with a minute and a half to go. Franklin-Simpson held the ball until the 10-second mark, with Briscoe drawing a foul while driving to the basket.
Todd Central (10-7 overall, 0-1 district) led the game 24-20 at halftime and 39-30 through three quarters.
However, Franklin-Simpson (8-4, 1-0) outscored the Rebels 16-6 in the final frame to come back and take the win.
Briscoe led the Wildcats with 12 points. Franklin also got 11 points from DeMarcus Hogan and nine from Gavin Dickerson.
Trayvon Foster paced the Rebels with 12 points. Preston Rager added nine points and Perez Whitlock had eight.
The free throw line was unkind to Todd Central in the tight tilt. The Rebels were just six of 14 at the charity stripe while the Wildcats made 14 of 16 attempts.
The two teams will play again Jan. 27 in Elkton.
