The Hopkinsville girls’ basketball team saw an early lead disintegrate on the road Monday night at Daviess County on the way to the Lady Tigers’ fourth loss in a row.
The Lady Tigers did most of their scoring in the first and fourth quarters but were undone by eight-point outputs in the middle frames.
Kahtahvia Fleming scored six points in the opening quarter and Shiyah Forte added five to hand Hoptown a 15-13 advantage.
However, Adylan Ayer knocked down a trio of three-pointers to post 13 points in the second and put Daviess County in front 36-23 at halftime.
Hopkinsville couldn’t find the scoring touch after the break and was outscored 21-8 in the third to blow the game open. Ayer added nine more points, and Madison Spurrier chipped in five for the Lady Panthers.
Forte finished with a team-high 15 points after scoring seven in the fourth. Fleming finished with 11 for the Lady Tigers.
Ayer’s 26 led all scorers, and she was joined in double figures for Daviess County by Roberts with 12.
