Embarrassing. Ugly. Discouraging. There really isn’t any way you can positively describe the current state of Kentucky basketball after their 71-68 home loss to South Carolina.
The Wildcats are just 3-4 in their last seven games and 1-3 in Southeastern Conference play. They’re still without a Quad One victory and are in line to be blown out at No. 5 Tennessee on Saturday.
It’s been a decade since Kentucky basketball saw a national championship banner hung in the Rupp Arena rafters. Is a coaching change on the horizon? Will there be a reset on the entire program? Fans are calling for John Calipari’s job and would be glad to see him gone tomorrow. Whether it’s the right move or not remains to be seen.
In the meantime, Kentucky can only focus on what’s in front of them. And the daunting matchup with the Volunteers on Saturday is not a promising opportunity. Tip-off at Tennessee is scheduled for 12 PM ET.

Calipari isn’t embarrassed, he will blame it on the kids.
