
The Warren Central Dragons looked every bit the part of the top-ranked team in the state of Kentucky as they rolled into Hopkinsville Tuesday night. The Dragons took care of business against the Tigers with a 92-65 win.
The opening quarter saw both teams getting the ball up and down the floor. The Tigers were right there after the first eight minutes as the two teams were knotted up 23-23.
Warren Central grabbed control of the game during the second quarter. The Dragons limited the Tigers to just four field goals as they ran out to a 49-33 lead at the break.
The Dragons kept the pedal to the floor as the second half got underway. Warren Central outscored Hopkinsville 24-16 to push the lead on out to 73-49.
From there Warren Central was able to put it on cruise control and roll on to the final 27-point margin.
Kemarion Smith was Hopkinsville’s leading scorer with 18 points. Bubba Leavell and Antonio Williams had 17 points each.
Kade Unseld came up big for Warren Central, ending the night with 29 points. Omari Glover added 16 for the Dragons.
The loss drops the Tigers to 5-10 on the year. They head off to Evansville this weekend for the Warrior Showcase.
