Falcons Close Out Superman Classic with Win Over Century

The Fort Campbell Falcons used a strong start and a big came from Maurice Moore to close out their appearance in the 2023 Superman Classic with a 70-46 win over Century High School in the 7th place game Saturday afternoon. The win ended a three-game losing skid for the Falcons.

Led by Maurice Moore’s 10 first-quarter points, the Falcons jumped out to a 22-8 lead and rolled on from that point. Century would cut the lead to 34-24 at the half. That was the one quarter that Moore did not score in for the Falcons.

Fort Campbell came back out in the 3rd quarter and began to extend the lead again. By the end of the quarter, the Falcon lead was at 53-37.

The Falcons held Century to just 9 points over the final eight minutes as they pulled away to the final 24-point margin.

Maurice Moore was the leading scorer for Fort Campbell with 20 points. Daniel Castro was the other Falcon to hit double-figures with 18 points.

For Century, Caden Crain topped the scoring column with 16 points.  Drew Dillow and Conner Skaggs added 13 each.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 4-12 on the season. Fort Campbell is back in action Tuesday when they host the Hopkinsville Tigers.
