A fast start fueled the Russellville Lady Panthers to a 65-25 win over University Heights Academy Monday at Jim Young Gymnasium in Russellville.
Sophomore Lareesha Cawthorn scored 10 of her game-high 25 points in the first quarter as the Lady Panthers jumped out to a 25-7 lead.
A’miyah Collier buried a couple of triples and scored eight of her 12 points in a second quarter that saw Russellville outscore UHA 15-6 and grab a 40-13 lead by halftime.
Alicia Davis led UHA with nine points and Kenady Quarles added eight points.
UHA will play at Caldwell County Tuesday, looking to snap a four-game losing streak to the Lady Tigers.
Russellville improved to 9-8 with its third straight win and fifth in its last six games. The Lady Panthers have won six straight against the Lady Blazers dating back to 2017.
