Long Range Shooting Rallies Colonels Past Logan County

The Christian County Colonels rebounded from a tough district loss over the weekend by using a second-half rally to take a road win at Logan County. Jordan Miles hit for 27 points as the Colonels got past the Cougars 75-65.

Christian County rallied after trailing by seven points at the half. The Colonels outscored Logan County by 17 points in the second half, including 24 to 13 over the final eight minutes of the game.

Thanks to their 3-point shooting, the Colonels got off to a good start. Christian County knocked down four shots from behind the arc in the opening quarter and took an 18-17 lead.

In the second quarter, it was Logan County’s turn. The Cougars connected from long-range five times as they came roaring back to take a 38-31 lead at the half. It could have been more if not for the play of Jordan Miles, who kept the Colonels in range by scoring 9 points in the quarter.

The Colonels’ three-point shooting began to click again in the third quarter. Christian County hit four from behind the arc in the quarter as they pulled to within one at 52-51.

The Christian County offense stayed hot in the final quarter, especially from deep, while the defense clamped down on the Cougars. That combination allowed the Colonels to come back and claim the 10-point win. Christian County hit three more 3-pointers in the final quarter, giving them 12 for the game.

In addition to the 27 points from Jordan Miles, Breland Morrison scored 15 for Christian County. K.J. Vaughn added 14, while Prince Northington scored 12 for the Colonels.

Kade Wall led Logan County with 17 points. Jack Delaney and Colby Collins added 12 points each.

Christian County improves to 13-10 with the win. Logan County drops to 8-18.
