
A large and decorated group will be headed into the Planters Bank – Hopkinsville High School Hall of Fame with that group to be honored before tonight’s Hoptown boys’ game with University Heights Academy.
Richard Graham was a member of the 1965 Hoptown state champion football team and expects a big turnout tonight.
Hoptown’s 1965 team was the first of two straight state football championships for the Tigers under the late coach Fleming Thornton.
Also in the first Hoptown Hall of Fame class are the 1985 state championship football team and David Means, who played in the NFL.
Retired judge and Hopkinsville golfer and coach Edwin White is also a part of the class.
Graham also said the careers of former Tiger quarterback Deontay Kenner and long-time coach Garry Satterfield are part of the inaugural class.
