After working overtime earlier in the week to get past the Russellville Panthers, the Todd County Central Rebels decided to get things taken care of in regulation time Friday night. Todd Central got a big night from senior Preston Rager as they picked up their 16th win of the season in a 58-46 home-court win over the Panthers.

Rager scored nine points in the first quarter as the Rebels took a 14-11 lead. In the second quarter, it was Hayden Strader’s turn. Strader scored eight points in the second as Todd Central took a 28-23 lead into the break.

The Rebels then got themselves some breathing room in the third quarter. Preston Rager got hot again and added 10 points to his total. Meanwhile, Jamison Glass, who had been held without a field goal in the opening half, added seven points as the Rebels pushed the lead out to 47-36.

The two teams played essentially even in the final quarter, but that would be enough for the Rebels to hold on for a double-digit win and their second win over the Panthers in five nights.

Todd Central’s Jamison Glass was recognized Friday night for pulling down his 500th career rebound earlier in the week.

Preston Rager finished with 21 points to lead the Rebels. Jamison Glass added 17, sixteen of them coming in the second half of play. Hayden Strader was the other Rebel in double-figures with 10.

Layne Steele was the leading scorer for Russellville with 8 points. Noah Stovall and Jayden Russell added seven points each.

The win improves Todd Central to 16-11. The Rebels are set to close out the regular season next Friday when they host Whitesville Trinity.
