Just a few weeks before the start of the 2023 season, the search for a new head baseball coach is underway at University Heights Academy. In a statement issued late Friday, UHA announced that Chris Hamby had decided to step away as head baseball coach for the Blazers.

UHA Athletic Director Taylor Sparks stated “We want to thank Coach Hamby for his contribution to the Heights baseball program. We appreciate him leading our young athletes and for always giving back to the program. We wish Coach Hamby well in his future endeavors.”

Hamby took over as Blazer baseball coach for the 2014 season. During his time with the program, Hamby’s teams went 107-132 and made two appearances in the 2nd Region baseball tournament.

UHA is set to open the 2023 season March 13 when they host Henderson County.
