Kiki Radford was one away from 100 career wins entering Friday’s game at Trigg County.

Her Christian County Lady Colonels made sure there would be no drama in their coach reaching the milestone as they raced to a 17-4 start and cruised to a 61-32 win over the Lady Wildcats.

The Lady Colonels were dominant in the paint, outscoring Trigg 32-10.

NeVaeh Day scored 18 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the Lady Colonels. Sarah Harris added six points and 14 rebounds as the Lady Colonels held a 48-32 advantage on the glass. Christian County put up 12 more shots than Trigg thanks to 21 offensive rebounds.

After the Colonels opened with the 17-4 start, Trigg began to chip away as Christian County got into a bit of foul trouble. Trigg made 7-of-10 free throws in the first half to offset a 3-of-26 shooting performance from the field.

Despite their shooting woes, Trigg was down just 19-13 midway through the second quarter. The Lady Colonels put together an 8-0 run to end the half for a 27-13 lead at intermission.

Christian County put the game away with a 15-3 run to begin the second half.

Anaysia Bagwell, who only played six minutes in the first half due to foul trouble, scored 13 of her 18 points in the second half.

Olivia Noffsinger led Trigg County with 17 points and seven rebounds.

Christian County has won 12 straight games over Trigg County and leads the all-time series 30-4.

Radford’s win is the 100th of her career and comes in her seventh season as Lady Colonel head coach. She ranks fourth in program wins behind Don Dillard (250), Lynn Colley (205), and Anthony Hickey (121).

Radford will face off against Hickey’s Warren Central Lady Dragons next Friday in the season finale. Trigg County will play at Dawson Springs Saturday afternoon.
