Not only did the Christian County Colonels have a long road trip for a Monday night game, they then took part in one of the longest games in Kentucky high school basketball this season. Coming off a big win against McCracken County Saturday, the Colonels traveled to Lexington Monday and outlasted Paul Dunbar in four overtimes 88-80.
Christian County had five players score in double figures Monday night led by Derrell Bateman with 22 points. Breland Morrison had 17. Jordan Miles and Prince Northington added 12 points each. JaSean Riley finished the night with 12.
The Colonels pick up the win despite a huge performance from Dunbar’s Nick Spalding. The senior guard rang up 40 points for the Bulldogs. Cade Hilt added 20 for Dunbar.
The Colonels have been quite the road warriors over the past few days. Christian County played at Madison Central on Friday night, came back to Lyon County to play McCracken County Saturday night, and then journeyed back to Lexington Monday to take on Dunbar.
