Madisonville’s Marcus Eaves and Henderson County’s Gerard Thomas were named co-region players of the year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches.
The award, in which only senior players are eligible, means both players will be invited to try out for the Kentucky All-Star Team that plays Indiana in a home-and-home series each summer.
Eaves, who has scored over 1,700 points in his high school career, is averaging 19.9 points and 6.6 rebounds for the Maroons while shooting 50 percent from the field.
Thomas passed 1,000 career points earlier this season and is averaging 18.4 points and eight rebounds a game. He, too, is shooting 50 percent from the field.
