Caldwell County High School grad Tate VanHooser cranked his first home run for Motlow State on Saturday in a game against Northwest Florida in Niceville, Florida.
The two-run shot capped a strong three-game set for VanHooser, who went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, an RBI double, three walks and four runs batted in.
Motlow dropped two of the three games to Northwest Florida on Friday and Saturday.
