Wilson Hits for 29 as Caldwell Wins Regular-Season Finale

Jaydarius Wilson scored a career-high 29 points to lead Caldwell County to a 67-52 victory over Livingston Central in the regular-season finale Friday night at the CAB gym in Princeton.

The sophomore was 12 of 13 from the floor, including a pair of second-half dunks, to make Caldwell a winner on Senior Night.

Wilson hit all five of his free throws and added four rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.

Caldwell (6-21) took control of the contest in the third period after Livingston (5-21) got to halftime with a 32-31 advantage.

The Tigers outscored the Cardinals 18-9 in the third quarter to go up 49-41.

Caldwell led by as much as 19 points in the final frame while winning for the second time in three tries against Livingston this season.

Zavy Bumphus added 18 points for Caldwell, including a perfect 10-for-10 on free throws.

Livingston got 17 points from Logan Wring and 11 from Josh Turney.

As a team, the Tigers were 20 of 40 from the floor and 25 of 33 at the free throw line.

Livingston, meanwhile, was just 21 of 58 from the field and made four of six charity tosses.

The first two meetings this season had both gone down to the wire. Caldwell won 58-57 in Smithland while Livingston prevailed 54-52 in the St. Mary Christmas Classic in Paducah.

The Tigers have taken seven of the last eight meetings and now lead the all-time series 74-52.

Caldwell next faces Hopkins County Central in the 7th District tournament Tuesday night in Mortons Gap.

Livingston will host Lyon County in the 5th District tourney Tuesday in Smithland.
