Kentucky Sports Radio rolled into Danville Friday and brought a variety of Kentucky/KSR fans to Lee’s Famous Recipe, including big-time fan Steve Cate of Tennessee.
Lee’s Justin Newton was pleased with the turnout of fans that ranged in age from less than 1 year old to Centre College students to older than me. There were folks from not only Danville and Boyle County, but also Mercer County, Lincoln County and Taylor County.
Former Hometown Radio personality Charlie Perry and current Hometown morning man Rick Schoebel were both there since KSR’s daily show airs on WHIR (1230 AM) each weekday.
Super fan Myles Bell of Boyle County was there with his infectious smile and never-ending belief in UK. He really enjoyed meeting KSR’s Ryan Lemond and had a front row seat and reserved parking spot.
Even county attorney Chris Herron, a die-hard fan, managed to get away from work a bit to enjoy the two-hour show.
Matt Jones, Drew Franklin, Shannon Grigsby and Lemond got to sample some of Lee’s very best selections — chicken tenders, catfish, chicken sandwich, potato wedges, mashed potatoes with gravy, and sweet tea.
“I thought the crowd was great and could not be happier with the way everything went,” Newton said. “We had plenty of parking and seating. The KSR guys were great with everyone and it was just a fun morning. I thought this would be a good experience for Danville and Boyle County, so I am glad it all went so well.”
