Fresh off a 61-43 victory over Franklin-Simpson on Friday to win the program’s first 13th-District title since 2018, the Todd County Central boys’ basketball team will meet 14th-District runners-up Bowling Green at E.A. Diddle Arena on the campus of Western Kentucky University.

The Rebels and Purples will play in the second game on Tuesday at 7:30.  Bowling Green enters the contest with a record of 24-8, with three of those losses coming to 14-District and defending region champions Warren Central.

Todd Central has dropped twelve straight to the Purples, including a 54-48 setback last season.  The Rebels’ last victory in the series came 21 years ago on February 22, 2002.

Should the Rebels advance, they would play the winner of Tuesday’s opener between Metcalfe County and Barren County.  Barren won the regular-season meeting between the teams 58-50 on February 14.

In the bottom of the bracket, Warren Central will face 13th-District runners-up Franklin-Simpson at 6:00 on Thursday.  The Dragons cruised past the Wildcats 71-43 on December 13.

In the final matchup of the first round, 15th-District winners Warren East square off with Monroe County.  Warren East is 20-9 but lost to Monroe 84-72 just over a week ago.  Monroe County finished runners-up to Metcalfe in the 16th District with a record of 18-14.
