Lyon County grad Brody Williams connected for his first collegiate home run for Kent State on Tuesday — and did it in front of many family and friends at Murray State.
Williams delivered a deep blast to left field in the top of the fourth inning. The solo shot gave the Golden Flashes a 3-2 lead at the time.
But the game would go to the ninth inning tied, before Kent State scored twice in the top of the frame to pull out a 6-4 victory.

Williams, who started at catcher, finished the day 2-for-4 at the plate.
Williams is a freshman at Kent State.
His former Lyon teammate, Gunnar Bingham, is a freshman at Murray State but did not play on Tuesday.
Williams and Bingham were members of Lyon’s 2021 2nd Region championship squad which reached the state semifinals before falling to eventual champion Louisville Trinity.
Kent State plays at Murray State again on Wednesday.
