
Travis Perry, who is closing in on the state’s all-time scoring record, was voted the region player of the year which was announced at the conclusion of Lyon County’s 76-70 region championship win over Hopkinsville Tuesday.
Perry needs just 21 points to pass ‘King’ Kelly Coleman and become the state’s all-time scoring leader. He will get that chance at Rupp Arena in Lyon County’s Sweet 16 opener with Newport.
Other players named to the All-Region Team as voted on by the coaches based on regular season play were:

Travis Perry, Brady Shoulders, and Jack Reddick – Lyon County
Antonio Williams – Hopkinsville
Gerard Thomas – Henderson County
Izaiah Manuel – Union County
Derrell Bateman – Christian County
Travis Champion – Crittenden County
Lemar Northington II and Gavin Grubbs – University Heights
Logan Wring – Livingston Central
Webster County’s Ryan Haile was named the region coach of the year.
