The HCA Lady Warriors picked up a split over the weekend during a trip to Bowling Green. The Lady Warriors routed Fort Knox 22-7 and then lost a high-scoring contest to Warren Central, who hosted the Saturday action.
In the opener, Heritage’s Hallie Zieg hit for the cycle as the Lady Warriors scored in every inning to claim the 15-run win over the Lady Eagles. HCA scored six in the first, one in the second, four in the third, nine in the fourth, and two more in the fifth inning.
Zieg finished the day 4-5 with six RBI’s. Kailyn Stanley finished 2-2 with two runs scored.
The Lady Warriors took full advantage of 20 walks given up by Fort Knox pitching.
Kennedy Hughes got the win in the circle for the Lady Warriors.
In the game against Warren Central, Heritage Christian saw the Lady Dragon start and end the game with a bang as Warren Central took the 11-5 win in five innings. The Lady Dragons took the early lead in the game with four runs in the bottom of the first and then closed the game out with six runs in the bottom of the fifth.
The Lady Warriors were limited to just two hits in the contest.
