A tough trip and a tough loss Tuesday evening for the Lyon County Lyons. Carlisle County scored in every at-bat but one, capped off by six runs to end the game in the fifth inning as the Comets picked up a 13-2 home win over the Lyons.
Carlisle County took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the second and never trailed in the game. The Comets added two more in the third, two in the fourth, and ended the game with six runs in the bottom of the 5th, including a walk-off three-run home run from Brady Sasseen, his second dinger of the game.
Carlisle County scored its 13 runs on a total of 9 hits in the game.
The Lyons scored their runs on an RBI single from Eli Baker in the third and a sac fly from Brady Belt in the top of the fourth.
Eli Baker led the Lyons, going 2-3 with an RBI. John Bingham also went 2-3 in the contest.
John Bingham was tagged with the loss for Lyon County (4-3). Bingham went 3 2/3-innings, giving up seven runs, five of them earned, on six hits, striking out five and walking three.
