The Todd County Central Rebels, not just the early season weather, had a chilling effect on Tennessee Heat Tuesday evening. The Rebels scored in every inning as they picked up a 23-1 road win over the team made up of home school students from Middle Tennessee.
The Rebel bats, which hammered out 18 hits over five innings, got rolling early. Todd Central scored six in the first, three in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth, and rang up eight runs in the top of the fifth.
Devin Schutt led the attack for the Rebels. Schutt was 4-4 with a triple, six RBIs, and two runs scored. Jacob Brandon and Preston Rager were each 3-5 in the game. Brandon had a double, three RBIs, and four runs scored. Rager ended up with 2 RBIs and three runs scored.
Eight different Rebels had a hit in the contest and eight different Rebels drove in a run.
Zack Robinson picked up the win on the mound for Todd County Central (4-1). Robinson pitched five innings, giving up one run on three hits, striking out five while walking four.
