Young Wildcats Take to the Track at the IOTS

Trigg County’s young track and field team finished in 21st place at Saturday’s Invitational of the South hosted by Marshall County High School.

Trigg tallied four points on the day with a top 10 individual finish and a top 10 relay finish.

SPRINTS

Kelsey Parham was 32nd in the 200 meters in 26.01 seconds, while Carter Shepherd was 38th in 26.67 seconds.

Matthew Reeves was 39th in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.48.

Brody Renfroe was 42nd in the 400 meters in 1:00.65, and Braxton Hargrove was 45th in the 400 meters in 1:01.77.

Renfroe also scored a 33rd-place finish in the 800 meters in 2:26.33.

MIDDLE DISTANCE

Austin Cavanaugh had Trigg County’s lone top 10 individual finish of the day, placing ninth in the 1600-meter run in a time of 4:57.88.

RELAYS

The 3200-meter relay team came in sixth place in 9:28.78.

The freshman 1600-meter team came in 11th place (4:28.93), while both the 800-meter team (1:46.42) and the 1600-meter team (4:03.68) came in 18th place.

FIELD EVENTS

Matthew Reeves completed a jump of five feet, 6 inches in the high jump to finish in a tie for 16th place.
