Young Wildcats Take to the Track at the IOTS

Trigg County’s young track and field team finished in 21^st place at Saturday’s Invitational of the South hosted by Marshall County High School.

Trigg tallied four points on the day with a top 10 individual finish and a top 10 relay finish.

SPRINTS

Kelsey Parham was 32^nd in the 200 meters in 26.01 seconds, while Carter Shepherd was 38^th in 26.67 seconds.

Matthew Reeves was 39^th in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.48.

Brody Renfroe was 42^nd in the 400 meters in 1:00.65, and Braxton Hargrove was 45^th in the 400 meters in 1:01.77.

Renfroe also scored a 33rd-place finish in the 800 meters in 2:26.33.

MIDDLE DISTANCE

Austin Cavanaugh had Trigg County’s lone top 10 individual finish of the day, placing ninth in the 1600-meter run in a time of 4:57.88.

RELAYS

The 3200-meter relay team came in sixth place in 9:28.78.

The freshman 1600-meter team came in 11th place (4:28.93), while both the 800-meter team (1:46.42) and the 1600-meter team (4:03.68) came in 18th place.

FIELD EVENTS

Matthew Reeves completed a jump of five feet, 6 inches in the high jump to finish in a tie for 16^th place.
