Hoptown Guys Take 5th Place at Calloway County

The Hopkinsville High track and field team took fifth place Saturday at the Calloway County Track Invitational. The Tigers scored 64 points to finish two points behind fourth place Marshall County.

RELAYS

The 1600-meter relay team of Floyd Kay, William Alston, Gabe Harton, and Kentrell Adams took the title in a season-best time of 3:39.41.

The 800-meter relay team of Kristin Johnson, William Alston, Elijah Reid, and Kentrell Adams ran a season-best time of 1:35.79 and finished in second place.

The 400-meter relay team of Kristin Johnson, Treston Kay, Floyd Kay, and Elijah Reid came in third place with a season-best time of 46.58 seconds.

SPRINTS

William Alston placed third in the 100-meter dash in 11.59 seconds and was second in the 400 meters in 52.56 seconds.

Kristin Johnson came in 10th place in the 200 meters in a time of 24.42.

Treston Kay was 13th in the 200 meters with a personal best time of 24.92 seconds.

Floyd Kay ran a personal-best time of 11.62 seconds in the 100-meter dash and finished in fourth place.

LaTravean Sharber ran a personal-best time of 12.83 seconds to finish in 30th place.

Kentrell Adams was 29th in the 400-meter dash in 1:09.06.

MIDDLE DISTANCE

DeAvery Ramey came in sixth place in the 800 meters in 2:15.72.

Camden Dennis came in 11th place in the 3200 meters (13:54.62) and finished in 24th place in the 1600 meters in 5:57.21.

Victor Hatcher was 12th in the 3200 meters in 13:54.67.

FIELD EVENTS

Sam Kanu was sixth in the high jump at five feet, 4 inches.

Alden Marshall was 14th in the shot put at 33 feet, 5.5 inches and was 16th in the discus throw with a PR toss of 91 feet, 5 inches.

Devin Coleman was 12th in the discus throw with a personal-best toss of 96 feet, 5 inches. He also finished 17th in the shot put at 32 feet, 2.75 inches.

Davian Simon came in eighth place in the discus throw with a personal-best heave of 103 feet, 2 inches. He was also 19th place in the shot put at 31 feet.
