It can be spring practice or preseason practice. It can be Terry Wilson, Will Levis, Devin Leary or anyone else at quarterback.
If it is a new Kentucky football season, then UK associate coach Vince Marrow is going to predict the tight ends, his position group, will finally catch a lot more balls and someone might have a season like tight end Jacob Tamme did 15 years ago.
Guess what? Marrow is expecting the tight ends to catch more balls this season.
“I really think Jordan Dingle and Josh Kattus are probably two of our better offensive guys. They were very productive last year and will be even more productive this year,” Marrow said.
Both are injured and not full-go in spring practice so the offense Liam Coen has now will change dramatically in the fall. Senior tight end Brenden Bates is also out of spring practice with an injury.
“I think these two guys (Dingle and Kattus) will be a little more talented than even they were last year and that is a scary thing (for opponents). Dingle and Kattus were great last year and Bates is back and Izayah Cummings flourished under Liam in 2021 and is looking really good this spring.”
Marrow thinks the receiving threat Vanderbilt transfer Ray Davis will provide at running back will help the tight ends as well.
“I like Davis a lot. He just goes about his business. He is a really good person and a really good running back who can catch the ball and diversify the offense more,” Marrow said. “He is a really good addition for us. He is no C-Rod (Chris Rodriguez) but he can catch the ball out of the backfield very, very well.”

All of this depends on what is without question the MOST important part of the entire offense – the rebuilding of the Big Blue Wall. Without that, nothing else will matter.
With you Gary. OL has to improve
