The Hopkinsville Tigers dropped their second straight game on the Gulf Coast Monday. Crestview used four-run innings in the fourth inning and again in the sixth inning to power their way past the Tigers 10-3.

Hopkinsville had cut a 2-0 deficit in half in the top of the fourth inning when Andrew Mayes singled to drive in Gavin Powell.

Crestview responded by scoring four runs in the bottom half of the inning to run the lead out to 6-1. The first five batters in the bottom of the fourth all reached base safely for Crestview.

The Tigers worked to get back in the game in the top of the 5th. Zach Moss came up with an RBI single to cut the lead to 6-2. Gavin Powell then drove in J.J. Thompson with a sac fly to make it 6-3. But that would be as close as the Tigers could get.

Crestview then put the game away with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Tigers were their own worst enemy at times during the game. Hopkinsville (3-6) was charged with five errors during the contest.

Zach Moss finished 1-4 with an RBI. J.J. Thompson was 1-2 with a double. Andrew Mayes ended up 1-3 and drove in a run.

On the mound, Lucas Kaetzel was charged with the loss. He started and went 3 2/3-innings, giving up six runs, five of them earned, on seven hits, striking out one and walking four.

The Tigers continue their Florida trip Wednesday taking on Fern Creek.
