Lady Rebels Drop Pair at Brentwood Invitational

A tough trip south of the state line Friday for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels. They traveled to Brentwood for the annual Brentwood Invitational and feel to Lincoln County 9-0 and then dropped a 4-2 decision to Collierville.

In the opener, the Lady Rebels were limited to just three hits in the contest, which lasted four innings due to time limit. Lincoln County scored all the runs it would need in the first inning with five runs. Lincoln then added two more in the third and two more in the fourth.

Karli Herrera, Dakotah Gammon, and Brooklyn Alder had the hits for the Lady Rebels.

In the circle, Abby McPherson was hit with the loss. She gave up 9 runs, eight of them earned, on 14 hits, striking out one and walking none.

In the second game for the Lady Rebels, Collierville took an early 3-0 lead and then held on for a 4-2 win over Todd County Central (7-6). The game lasted five innings due to event time limit.

After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the second, the Lady Rebels rallied for two in the bottom of the third. Addison Woodall drove in one run with an RBI single while Abby Willliams drove in another with a fielder’s choice.

But that would be as close as the Lady Rebels would get. Collierville added a run in the top of the 5th and then the clock ran out on the Lady Rebels after the bottom half of the inning.

Karli Herrera, Addison Woodall, and Naomi Welborn combined for Todd Central’s three hits.

Addison Woodall got the start in the circle, going three innings, giving up three runs on just two hits, striking out two and walking four.
