The Clarksville Northeast Eagles scored 11 runs over a three-inning stretch Friday to hand the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons a 14-5 loss on post. The loss ended a two-game winning streak for the Lady Falcons.
Northeast took an early 2-0 lead in the contest, scoring a run in the first and another run in the top of the second.
The Lady Falcons came back and took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the second. Emma Kolmerton had an RBI double, followed by an RBI single off the bat of Jordan Wilkerson that put Fort Campbell in the lead.
Northeast went back in front for good with three runs in the top of the fourth and then put the game away with six runs in the top of the fifth. In addition to their bats heating up, Northeast took advantage of five walks and two hit batters to get their offense rolling.
The Lady Falcons got two of the runs back in the bottom of the fifth, but Northeast would add insurance with two in the top of the sixth and one more in the top of the 7th to lock up the win.
Kiley McCrary ended up going 2-3 with a double for Fort Campbell (2-4). Jordan Wilkerson was 1-3 with two RBIs. Alexsa Hoffman and Emma Kolmerton each had a hit and an RBI for the Lady Falcons.
In the circle, Kiley McCrary got the start, going 3 1/3-innings, giving up five runs, three of then earned, on three hits, striking out eight and walking seven.
