Caldwell County’s 1998 state runner-up softball team will be honored this Saturday, prior to the Lady Tigers’ home game against Ballard Memorial.
This is the 25th anniversary of Caldwell’s run to the state softball championship round in Louisville.
Game time is 1:00 Saturday.
A reception, with food and drinks for players and families, will start at 11:30.
Members of the 1998 squad will be recognized before the contest.
The Lady Tigers won the 2nd Region championship for the first time in 1998 and finished the season 29-9.
Caldwell picked up wins over Greenwood, Conner, Clark County and Louisville Assumption at the state tournament. Both of the Lady Tigers’ losses at state came to champion Owensboro Catholic, 2-0 and 3-2.
