The Caldwell County Tigers are headed for the 2nd Region All A Classic baseball championship game. The Tigers advanced by quickly taking care of business against Livingston Central with a 15-0 five-inning win Tuesday evening in Smithland.
Caldwell County pitchers Ari Wells and Jamus Carneyhan did the job on the mound, combining to no-hit the Cardinals over the five innings of the game. Wells picked up the win, going three innings with five strikeouts. Carneyhan finished out the final two innings, adding a pair of strikeouts of his own.
The Tigers effectively settled the issue in the top of the first inning, scoring seven runs. The big hit in the inning was a towering three-run homer to right off the bat of Ben Goodaker.

The Tigers added a run in the top of the third to push the lead out to 8-0. Caldwell County ripped the game wide open in the top of the fourth with five more runs. Ari Wells led the attack with a grand slam in the inning.
The Tigers would wrap up the scoring with a pair of bases-loaded walks in the top of the fifth.
In addition to the big blasts from Wells and Goodaker, Brady Holeman was 2-3 with a double, and an RBI, and two runs scored. Carter Whittington was 2-4 with a run scored. Luke Parker finished up 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
The Tigers advance to Thursday night’s title game, where they will take on Crittenden County, who rocked University Heights in the other semifinal contest.
