
Crittenden County scored twice in the bottom of the fifth inning to rally past Lyon County 3-2 Tuesday night in the semifinals of the 2nd Region All A Classic in Eddyville.
Anna Boone gave up just two unearned runs on three base hits and also homered to tie the game in the fifth inning.
In the circle, Boone struck out nine and walked three in a complete-game performance.
At the plate, Boone’s homer just inside the right-field foul pole tied the game with one out in the bottom of the fifth.
A two-out triple by Elle McDaniel was followed by a bad-hop single to short by Hannah Jent that pushed the Lady Rockets in front.
Lyon (2-6) had taken a 2-0 lead in the top of the second. The first run scored on an error while Brenna Breitrick drove in the second run with a ground out to second.
Crittenden’s first run came in the bottom of the second when Jaycee Champion singled with one out and later scored on a wild pitch.
Lilly Perry took the pitching loss for Lyon. She allowed two earned runs on six hits in six innings while fanning eight and walking four.
Crittenden (7-5) advances to Thursday’s All A Classic regional championship game against Livingston Central (8-1).
The Lady Cardinals outlasted Caldwell County 11-10 in eight innings in Tuesday’s first semifinal game.
