Girls’ Doubles the Bright Spot for Lyon Tennis at Marshall

On the road at Marshall County on Thursday, the Lyon County tennis team won the girls’ doubles matches 2-1 to highlight the afternoon against the Marshals.

In girls’ singles play, Anna Crawford lost to Jessica Wells 4-8, Katie Ladd fell 5-8 to Emma Whirley, Emmy Slaton lost 2-8 to Faith Eutsler, and Elizabeth Harper dropped her match 1-8 to Taylor Thomas.

Josie Kaminski and Cassidy Chaptman were victorious for the Lady Lyons, winning 8-5 over Delaney Miller and 8-5 over Brooklyn Roberts.

In girls’ doubles, Crawford and Kaminski lost 1-8 to Wells and Miller, while Ladd and Chaptman beat Eutsler and Thomas 8-2, and Jackie Hall and Elizabeth Harper won their match 8-2.

On the boys’ side, Devon Guess lost 3-8 to Elston Evans, and Zach Radivonyk, Jaise Riley, Kobe Veigl, and Christian Patton all lost 0-8.

Timothy Taylor picked up the lone singles win with an 8-3 decision over Alex Dinas.

In boys’ doubles, Jackson Crawford and Dalton Phillips topped Wells and Dinas 8-8 (10-2), while Brandon Ray and Collin Calhoun fell 3-8 to Evans and Eli Rudd, and Radivonyk and Guess dropped a 4-8 decision to Maverick Simmons and Hunter Odom.
