The Ballard Memorial Bombers were right at home on post at Fort Campbell on Saturday, laying waste to the Falcons by scores of 18-1 and 20-6.

The Falcons’ lone run in the opener came on Tyler Hansen’s RBI single in the bottom of the 2nd, one of only three hits allowed by Ballard’s Braxton Blankenship.  Blankenship struck out seven and issued a pair of walks on the way to his second win of the season.

The Bombers posted three runs in each of the first three frames before finishing things off with a nine-run 4th.  Keaton Overstreet was two for four with four RBI, including a 4th-inning home run.  Daniel Meinshein had two hits and drove in three runs, Blankenship had two RBI, Mason Nichols finished two for two, and Hunner Bealmear crushed a three-run home run in the 3rd.

Aiden Blaszkowski took the loss on the mound for the Falcons, surrendering nine runs, seven earned, on five hits with four walks.  Adam Harrington and Marquell Hunt had the other two hits for Fort Campbell.

Trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the 1st of the second matchup, the Falcons used Harrington’s RBI single and a run on a passed ball and another on a wild pitch to cut the lead to two.  However, the Bombers pushed five more runs across in the 2nd to take control.

John Arnold singled in a run in the 2nd, and Blaszkowski came home on an error in the 3rd, but that was it for the Falcons’ offense.

Ethan Egner allowed five earned runs on four hits with two walks and a strikeout to absorb the loss.  Jayden Swann came on in relief and gave up 11 runs, six earned, on five hits with seven walks and a strikeout in three and two-thirds.

Meinschein finished four for five with two RBI for the Bombers, and Ayden Owens, Hunter Collins, and Austin Kendall each drove in two runs.  Ike Miller picked up the win on the mound despite giving up three earned runs on two hits with three walks and a pair of strikeouts in one inning of work.

Ballard Memorial won its third straight to improve to 9-8, while the Falcons slipped to 2-12 with home and away matchups with Hopkinsville coming up.
