7th Inning Rally Carries HCA Past Clarksville Christian

The Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors had to overcome a big hitting performance by Clarksville Christian Monday evening, and that they did. The Lady Warriors came from 10-7 down going into the bottom of the seventh inning and scored four runs in their final at-bat to claim the win.

Kailyn Johnson drove in the tying run with an RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the 7th and then Clarksville Christian had an error on the play that allowed the winning run to score and the Lady Warriors to walk off with the win.

HCA picks up the win despite being outhit 20-12 in the game.

The Lady Warriors took an early 7-3 lead in the game after two innings, only to see Clarksville Christian come back with two runs in the third, four runs in the fifth, and one run in the sixth, setting the stage for the dramatic finish.

Kennedy Hughes led the attack at the plate for Heritage. The junior was 3-5 with a double, 5 RBIs, and a run scored. Hallie Zieg also had a big day at the plate, going 3-4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Kailyn Johnson finished 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Hadlee Hayes and Madison Warren added two hits each.

Kennedy Hughes picked up the win in the circle for the Lady Warriors.
