Lady Wildcats Sweep Pair from Lady Storm on the Road

It was break out the broom night on the road for the Trigg County Lady Wildcats. Trigg used a big pitching performance in one game and a big offensive output in the second to claim a doubleheader sweep on the road at Hopkins Central Thursday evening.

Tember Oliver gave up just three hits over seven innings as the Lady Wildcats won the opener over the Lady Storm 8-0. Oliver struck out 11 batters and walked none in a big performance in the circle.

Trigg County scored one in the first, two in the third, three in the fourth, and two more in the fifth.

The story of the night at the plate was the play of Rylee Hendricks. Hendricks was 5-5 with three doubles, a triple, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Kady Fuller, Kiley Slone, and Livia Breckel added two hits each.

In the nightcap, the Lady Wildcats used a ten-run explosion in the second inning to carry them to a 16-4 five-inning win over Hopkins Central. Trigg County took advantage of two Central errors, four walks, and a hit batter to provide fuel to the fire in the inning. The Lady Wildcats also pounded out six of their 10 hits in that inning.

The Lady Wildcats plated two in the first, ten in the second, and then four more in the top of the fourth.

Brynlee Smock led the offensive charge for the Lady Wildcats, going 2-2 with three RBIs. MaKenna Hendricks was 2-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. EmmaLee Futrell was 2-3 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Lily Eagleson finished 1-2 with 3 RBIs and a run scored.

In the circle, Emma West got the win. The senior went four innings, giving up four runs, two of them earned, on six hits, striking out six and walking two.
