Mobley Leads Caldwell to 3rd Place Showing at Hopkinsville Classic

Cooper Mobley won the shot put competition with a distance of 42 feet, 10.5 inches to help lead Caldwell’s guys to a third-place showing in the Hopkinsville Classic on Saturday.

Mobley also took third in the discus at 126 feet, 6 inches.

The Tigers finished with 122.5 points, trailing Hopkinsville (166) and Dickson County, Tennessee (154).

Russellville took fourth with 39 points.

Other top performers for Caldwell included Max Heaton, who placed second in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 47.85 seconds.

Xzavier Lee was second in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 1.75 inches.

Timothy Nichols was third in the long jump at 19 feet, 0.75 inches. Nichols was also third in the triple jump at 38 feet, 1.25 inches.

Blaine Hicks was fourth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:19.63.

The Tiger 4×800 relay team of Nichols, Blake Bard, Hicks, and Blake Lancaster took second in a time of 9:42.84.

The 4×200 team was third in 1:40.08. That team is Tyler Linton, Jackson Risley, Lee, and Tre Copeland.

The 4×400 team of Risley, Bard, Lancaster, and Heaton finished third in 4:13.44.

Ten schools competed in the track meet.
