When Lyon County has its bats going, they are good. On Thursday against Ballard Memorial, they were really good.

The Lyons had nine hits in four innings – four for extra bases – as they defeated the Bombers 11-1 Thursday at Jim Boyd Field.

The win gives the Lyons a season-high four-game winning streak and ups their record to 11-5.

Austin Spears and Eli Baker had first-inning doubles to plate Lyon’s first run. After an RBI groundout by Brady Belt, Aiden Waters followed with an RBI single to put the Lyons up 3-1.

Peyton Williams smacked a 3-run homer to key a seven-run second inning. Turner Hurst added an RBI single in the frame and added another one in the fourth inning.

Hurst was one of three Lyons with two hits. Spears had a pair of doubles and Williams added a single to his four-bagger.

Konnor Myatt had one of Ballard Memorial’s three hits – an RBI double in the first inning that staked the Bombers (10-10) to a 1-0 lead.

Belt pitched the first two innings, allowed an earned run, and struck out three.

Drew Richie pitched the final three innings to get the save. He only allowed one hit and didn’t walk a batter.

Lyon County is scheduled to host Christian County Saturday morning at 11:00.
