An 11-run fourth inning helped the Hopkinsville Tigers outscore West Creek 17-12 Saturday afternoon in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Hoptown (7-12) had 11 base hits in the contest, but also was given 15 walks by the Coyotes.

Hopkinsville sent 16 batters to the plate in the big inning while turning a 3-3 deadlock into a 14-3 advantage.

The scoring by both sides was far from over, however,

West Creek (9-9) put up four runs in the home half of the fourth and five more in the sixth to get back to within 14-12.

But the Tigers scored three times in the top of the seventh to make it a five-run game, then Zach Moss retired the Coyotes in order in the bottom of the inning to finish off the win.

Offensively, Moss and Dylan Sweeney were each 2-for-3 with an RBI for Hopkinsville. Chase Fort was 2-for-4 and knocked in two.

Five Hoptown pitchers combined to allow nine earned runs on nine hits with eight walks and seven strikeouts.

West Creek also used five pitchers in the contest, surrendering eight earned runs with five strikeouts.

Hopkinsville will travel across town for an 8th District tilt on Monday at Christian County.
