
After a shutout loss in the opener on Saturday against visiting Fort Knox, the Fort Campbell baseball rallied to snap a 12-game skid with a five-inning victory over the Eagles to cap the doubleheader.
Fort Knox’s Isaiah Morrison held the Falcons scoreless in the first game, scattering five hits with three walks and four strikeouts.
Aidan Blaszkowski and Ethan Egner combined for four hits to help Fort Campbell outhit the Eagles, but a pair of errors in a four-run 4th spelled doom for the Falcons.
Blaszkowski only allowed two earned runs, including a solo home run to Sebastian Miller to lead off the 5th, to slip to 1-7 on the mound after giving up four hits with three walks and nine strikeouts.
Morrison earned the win for the Eagles, scattering five hits with three walks and 11 strikeouts over seven frames to help Fort Knox stop a four-game skid and improve to 5-10.
Fort Campbell used a seven-run 1st to bounce back in the second matchup, with Egner doing the job on the mound to earn the win. He allowed a run in the 2nd and 3rd but held the Eagles to three hits with nine walks and three strikeouts over five innings.
In the nightcap, the Falcons took advantage of four walks, two hit by pitches, and got an RBI single by Blaszkowski to take a 7-0 lead in the first inning. Thomas Roach singled in a run in the 2nd, and Fort Campbell added three runs in the bottom of the 5th to end the game.
Egner had two hits for the Falcons, Roach drove in two runs, and Adam Harrison and Jonah Weisbrich each had an RBI.
Miller took the loss for the Eagles, allowing seven runs, five earned, on two hits with four walks and a pair of strikeouts.
Fort Campbell will be back in action on Tuesday at Heritage Christian Academy. The Falcons were 15-0 winners over the Warriors in the teams’ first meeting.
