The Christian County Lady Colonels got their offense running in high gear Tuesday evening. The Lady Colonels rapped out 14 hits on their way to a 13-6 win over the Webster County Lady Trojans.
Avery Adcock continued her recent hitting tear going 4-4 with three doubles in the game. Haley Petterson also had a big night for Christian County, going 3-3 with a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored.
Christian County was trailing 4-1 going into the bottom of the seconds when the Lady Colonels rallied for five runs to take the lead for good. The big blow in the inning was a three-run home run to right center off the bat of Karlee Crick that put Christian County ahead 6-4.
The Lady Colonels then dropped the hammer in the bottom of the third inning, scoring four more runs to make it a 10-4 lead. The Lady Trojans never seriously threatened in the game after that point.
Christian County’s offense hung at least one run on the board in every inning, scoring one in the first, five in the second, four in the third, and one each in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.
In addition to the big games from Avery Adcock and Haley Petterson, Karlee Crick had a stellar effort, going 2-3 with a home run and 5 RBIs. Jada Miller ended up 2-4 with two runs scored.
Jordan Turner picked up the win in relief in the circle. She pitched the final five innings, giving up two runs on five hits, striking out three and walking four.
The Lady Colonels are back in action Thursday when they host Caldwell County.
